Love, I do not know what you are
I let you come near again and again
but you always yank yourself away
I expose my heart to you
You take all the goodness
then you abandon me
Over and over this happens
no matter how I try to understand
the meaning of your name
I just wish you would not leave
this emptiness, so I could give
my heart to something other than
a thing called, Love

This poem is for One Shot Wednesday
i enjoy your writing… 🙂
and your wordpress design (Motion — i use it too for my blog so i was doing a deja vu reading your blog 🙂
love truly is free as wind, it comes but rarely stays, and then it comes back again- thats how it is.
I like this poem.
Emotional with a hint of tragedy
Thank you for reading here
“other than a thing called, Love”…nice image and questioning of Love….nice one shot…bkm
Thank you. 🙂
Ahhh!!! an interesting take on love.. and lovely at that… I relate to the feeling of love leaving and not leaving anything in heart to give again to some one some thing… Thanks for sharing…

Rhank you for reading. 🙂
Ohhh.. that yen is so felt, and so understandable too! I guess we have all been there at some point or another..
But I suppose “Love” will always continue to be this elusive, mysterious elf .. forever.. (for better or for worse)
Lovely poem, HeartSpell.. I so enjoy your imagery, and the words you put to it!! xoxoxox
Thank you, Kavita… I have missed you! 🙂
love is such a misunderstood word…shaped and sized and packaged every way but many only deceivers…thanks for being raw and real…i’ve lived in this poem too…but oh how I hope you find the Love that’s come and is real and will never leave…peace
Peace and best to you, as well. 🙂
The bitter end of the ins n’ outs of “love” -in its horrifyingly nasty forms – is in full bloom/mood here. Solid, oh-so-relatable piece.
Thank you for your thoughts. 🙂
Reading these kinds of words always evokes sympathy from me – I want the writer to know that Love is good and not always hurtful. I guess I want them to love Love. An evocative One Shot.
Thank you for reading. 🙂
How sad that a counterfeit for love “takes all the goodness” and then abandons… Your words so well express the emptiness felt by victims of false lovers. Blessings to you…
and to you… 🙂
I connect with this…
forgone and forgotten
sorry… it is sad. 😦
Love the elusiveness you create, treating love as if it is a living being… nicely done.
Thanks. 🙂
You express the confusion of love in this poem – I like the layers in image of this line: “I just wish you would not leave
this emptiness”
Thank you for visiting my blog. 🙂
Hope love comes to stay.:D
Thank you for the kind words… I am loved. 🙂
A good cathartic poem.
Catharsis is a great thing, isn’t it. 🙂
I sense the depth; a yearning for something elusive
Love can be that way
You cause the reader to ponder
Thanks for the One Shot
Moon smiles
Thank you for allowing me… 🙂
