We’re all just people

humans, who are sure to err

that is no mistake

¬ ¬ ¬ ¬ ¬ ¬ ¬ ¬ ¬ ¬ ¬

If family ties

choke you up so you can’t breathe

just loosen the knot

Have you lost your way ?

there is a path to find it

your heart will lead you

carrying you with its love

perfect journey companion

Blue is my inner tattoo

though sparkling brights reflect from you

But if you unzipped my skin

I fear you would become gray

and the rainbow that is you

might simply fade away

 So, seep back in

with your every hue

puncture my heart

and surround the blue

So pure, the petaled of Eden

where beauty practices magic

casting spells in every color

 to capture in paint

on camera

or mind’s lasting eye

How serene, the sound of song

 gently spreading waves of calm

which flow through an open soul

so sing out loud

in glory

from love’s deepest source

Ever sweet, the winged and feathered

who distract without intention

dissipating the surrounding world

oh please, grant wings

of soaring

for heavenly skies

You’ve become my mind reader

telling me what you think I’m thinking

while I stand aghast in question

of  the disconnectedness of our verbal linking

Perhaps yours is a foreign tongue

indecipherable to all but you

where words get skewed in the translation

So, what is there to do?

It comes out of nowhere

again, hitting me like a brick

and always leaves the sad feeling

that this is one I’ll never lick

You’ve become my mind reader

but, I’ll just let it be

Maybe one day what you think I think

will shed a better light on me

So, she died?

She got stuck

Was it a trap?

She couldn’t move

Then what happened?

Well, she froze

From the cold?

No, she just stood still

And her heart stopped?

Her life stopped

So, she stopped breathing?

She can still breathe

But I thought she died?

Believing was once
an easy thing
What someone said
was always true
no choice involved
questions never asked

Believing was once
an easy thing
But over time
the child in me
began to see
that people lie

Believing was once
an easy thing
Then began
having to choose
what to believe
who to trust

Believing was once
an easy thing
But the choice of another
could cause one
to believe a lie
disguised as truth

Believing was once
an easy thing
No longer
is that true
believing is a choice
that MUST be made

Believing was once
an easy thing

Ocean, my huge friend

smells of salt as he drifts near

off guard, I am caught

when he rolls over my feet

pulling me into his lap

Cold spray hits my face

though he’s large, he’s such a tease

I try to escape

but land in his bubbly wash

he waves and I laugh
