I will be incognito to posting for about a week, as I am  proudly off to witness the graduation of my son from Air Force basic training

I leave you with this before I depart; my 100th post:

Call it a mission

of sending some hope your way

It’s a joy to do

writing down my truths

I’ve reached one hundred today

Friends, thanks for reading

for sharing your words with me

You should see my smile

Though far, it shortens the miles

when you show your views to me

I have been given this beautiful award by Marillyn from mairmusic.

I also received this lovely award from RiikaInfinityy and from Olivia

A heart should never

be forced to harden

as if baked like clay

Love is tender

wears a softness

Its vessel, too

should remain that way

But sometimes in defense

the outer shell toughens

in order to repel the pain

and in so doing

some of heart’s true nature

soon begins to wane

But like a pillow to rest upon

the heart which remains soft

can never break

So perhaps

retaining a tender heart

is the feat to undertake

Raindrops spoke

in comforting rhythm

to my restless dreams

which then

settled deeply

into rain’s

peaceful repose

I am honored to receive this award from Jingle

I nominate mairmusic  for The Perfect Poet Award

I am also honored to receive this lovely

award from thoughtsnotlost

You have become

the brightness

of my days

the beacon

of my nights

You shine

on me

I glow

Life is a whirlwind

I am swept up

but thriving

as I spin around

and around

and around

I’ll catch my breath

later

Fate, that which

determines one’s lot

Fate, the Power

In my mind

it makes sense not

Who but me

chooses the path

my future will take?

So am I, then

fate of my own fate?

Success or failure

different in different eyes

the long-awaited outcome

not always

the expected prize

Can’t destiny be defaulted?

Can’t destiny be deferred?

Fate, in my mind

an unclear word

Rainy day Friday

the long week comes to an end

In rhythm with rain

thoughts pitter-patter about

dancing with summer showers

Monday, school begins

Children on their way again

with paper and books

new backpacks filled to the brim

my heart jumps in as they go
