Seeing Stars For What They Are

 On a light, bright, moony night

looking up is such glorious delight

noticing a glistening star here; another, sparkling over there

counting them all until you realize just how much, is up in the air

how small you are, here below

and just how many answers, are okay not, to ever know

Never searched for the limelight

though I still might

shine

sometimes

like sunshine, warm and bright

or become some starlight

twinkling

eyes blinking

But I choose heartlight

buried, out of sight

 glowing

ever flowing

all day, then like a nightlight

hoping I just might

be a guide

while I reside

to set things upright

in love’s true light

its ways divine

not silver, not golden, nor lime

just true, and pure white
