First of winter, yesterday
but summer still hung on by its skin
we soaked it in with sun’s drenching rays
not knowing when bitter cold, might begin to seep in
Then, we may turn varying degrees of blue
as days can’t hold on to their light
and autumn leaves drop off to become fewer than few
aware that winter’s wind comes with such a nasty bite
Shades of red , degrees of blue
they come in many colors
There’s even a purple one
that combines attributes
of both the red and blue
I think a bright yellow
version might be nice
for a change
This is empty
this is blue
this has holes in it
everything fell through
There was no net
just blacker blue
just empty space
where I thought I knew you
I know Blue
He sometimes comes
to stay awhile with me
When he’s around
I can barely breathe
He gets caught in my throat
or lingers too long
just behind my eyes
Pretending to be a friend
he steals clear thoughts
right out of my head
I then wind up in tears
I don’t dislike Blue
At least he makes me cry
It’s better than being ignored
without knowing
or understanding
the reason why
Love is
the color blue
Its clarity so poor
clearly; but very rich in hue
if true
Right down the middle
you broke my red heart
There’s just empty white space
between the two rusted parts
It can’t be filled
everything falls through
No longer whole
my breath turns blue
Green is the new brown
covering all things bare; the ground
Clear blue, the new grey
dull becomes a bright, shiny day
Buds begin to flower
more color by the hour
