Bits and pieces of them
hang from the ceilings
on windowless walls
still other parts sit
atop different shelves
as little by little
THEY disappear
Lately I’ve taken to
pouring my heart out
into a bucket of words
used to paint hope
on the back fence
🙂 beautiful.
Laurie,
As a dad I read this as kids growing up and “leaving the nest.” Their stuff hangs from ceilings and walls but the kids have grown up and are hitting the stage of leaving home. I connect this with the painting on the fence… FLY FLY because you want them to launch into life (the second FLY cut off by the top of the fence really got to me by-the-way)… BUT in yellow and WAIT in red… speaks volumes!
Not sure if that’s what you meant, but that’s what it spoke to me.
Thanks for sharing, nicely done!
Stephen
