i say
i DON’T care
a lot
but i DO
these days
i say
i don’t CARE
a lot
because it’s easier
these days
i still
really CARE
a lot
i DO
these days
i still
really care
a LOT
but it’s easier
these days
to say
i DON’T care
than to say
i DO
Oh… that is soooo true, Heartspell…
these days, it’s easier to pretend to avoid commitment than to really admit that one is committed…
and you have expressed this very well here, my friend…
Thank you, Kavita….hope you are well.
Been there…know the feeling…you captured it well.
Thanks, Ayala.
Yes, you’ve described myself and probably 80% of the population or more. We say we don’t care to protect ourselves, at the same time as knowing we do.
I agree with you 100%. Thank you for visiting my blog.
Well- written- nice job! And, I wholeheartedly agree. Saying you don’t care even when you do often makes things easier at first but can create even bigger issues later. But, even with this knowledge I use this escape all the time to avoid confrontation.
Yes, that confrontation is never any fun even when you care deeply about the other person. Thanks for the nice words. 🙂
I can see where you’re coming from. Sometimes it is the easiest thing to do. You’ve said it so well!
Thanks for the kind words and for reading here.
Well you’ve presented in the poem the way most people I think approach the problems and issues before them….well said.
Thank you, Charles.
I love the way you wove those two phrases in and out of each other… I have those days, and then days that I care, it’s always a battle.
Thank you for your thoughts and for visiting my blog.
how true…and i hear it a lot as well…and probably say it…and it is easier sometimes cause if you care it hurts…sometimes.
Yes, exactly…. you have been there, too. Some times we just can’t confront the feelings…. it can be so exhausting when you care so much. Gonna miss you on One Stop, Brian. Hope we will still get to read and enjoy all your wonderful musings on your blog. Thanks for all your dedication and support in the poetry community.
