Remember to look both ways
my dear Aunt Mae used to say
when I’d leave the house to play
Strong advice from the start
wise, she was; and such a part
of many lessons I’ve taken to heart
Thus, I’ve come to agree
there’s more than one way to see
anything that you may see
Like a door that swings two ways
your view changes, whether you’re coming in or walking away
So, if the door, or what you see, hits you hard somewhere today
don’t forget to always look both ways
Practical, entertaining, good stuff.
thank you, Steve.
Loved this! A great poem and lovely reading. Awesome xx
Thanks for stopping by to read here. 🙂
Very meaningful.. I always wondered if it was good to think that everything has 2 aspects attached on to itself! You just affirmed 🙂
I loved the rhyming words expressing the essence of the poem- very insightful indeed..
Smiles xx
Just noticed you on my blog. I have 2 different sites. I do my poetry separately here
Thank you Olivia… I will try to visit you.
I enjoy the way you read your poem very much. The thoughts are nice too.
Thank you for visiting and reading my blog. 🙂
lovely yet powerful heartspell..
You are kind, Kris… Thank you for visiting.:)(:
Excellent words to go by, HeartSpell… In fact, just a few minutes back, I updated my status message on Facebook on somewhat similar lines.. something about perspective et al… So I really AM in that mood of “looking both ways”… Sometimes, we get judgmental a tad to quickly..
Really liked this poem, my dear H.. Like I said, you have this amazing way of saying exactly the things I would want to read… Love you loads, my friend… please know that..
xoxoxo
Perspective is so powerful….the way we view a thing can make or break us….thank you for the compliment, Kavita…. I am merely speaking from my heart, though. I can feel the love through the air waves or on the breeze… Hope you feel it as well…you are such a dear spirit…:)(:
Oh yes there is always two sides to a coin.. two ways to look at things and two ways to live… in happiness or in sorrow as you choose…. Love the thought in there… thanks for sharing…

If only we all realized that we should choose happiness every time instead of letting ourselves be dragged down by past habits….
Liked this a lot….always look both ways…excellent advice…sometimes hard to do, isn’t it? Vb
Yes, I am still slow to see another side of things sometimes….but, working on broadening my mind in that way….
ha, great advice but i like the humor in the door hitting you as well as what it means…
Thank you, Brian…. Sometimes it takes that for us to open our eyes….
Such sage advice for this Wednesday…and presented in such a wonderful way.
