More dead
It’s a war zone
They are struck down
Mercilessly
They run
this way and that
but to no avail
The need for food
drives them
They risk crossing
unfamiliar
territory
I move
slowly past them
Each day I see
more on the road
Lying there dead
poor, sweet squirrels
It’s a war zone

Poor little creatures with their wiggly black noses and bushy tails. You have a tender heart, heartspell. I, too, feel bad when I see squirrels and other animals killed on our roads. Blessings to you…
Thank you for the blessings…yes, I do have a tender heart; sounds like you do, too! Heartspell
love squirrels,
Indeed they got killed,
important message, we must drive with care….
love the road image, very valid demonstration of your topic.
Happy Thursday!
thank you, JIngle.
We have ground squirrels…they are not sweet…destructive yes.;-)
Ours probably are destructive in their way, as well; I just hate to see them dead in the road…I have a soft heart for these little creatures and many others. 🙂 heartspell
