determines one’s lot
Fate, the Power
In my mind
it makes sense not
Who but me
chooses the path
my future will take?
So am I, then
fate of my own fate?
Success or failure
different in different eyes
the long-awaited outcome 
not always
the expected prize
Can’t destiny be defaulted?
Can’t destiny be deferred?
Fate, in my mind
an unclear word

Yes, I was questioning fate and its definition…. so many questions in my mind…. we do choose our path even if out of laziness or fear of something… that’s why I question the so-called power that supposedly determines our fate according to the definition. Not sure that ‘fate’ has much to do with what really happens …but more what we elect to do when provided with various situtations….just a random thought based upon you fine poem.

I agree that fate is unclear. God may overrule it. We may interfere with “it”. So what is it? What we blame when we don’t like it? Very thought provoking poem. I like it. Thank you for sharing.
